Kyoto

The Cultural Heart of Japan

Where tradition meets tranquility

Kyoto served as Japan's imperial capital for over a thousand years. Its ancient history is preserved in more than 2,000 temples, stunning gardens, and the wooden tea houses that line its historic streets.

From the golden glow of Kinkaku-ji to the vermillion gates of Fushimi Inari, every corner of Kyoto tells its own story. You can stroll through the geisha district of Gion at dusk, spend a quiet moment in a Zen garden, or witness the tea ceremony as it has been performed for centuries.

Kyoto is also a gateway to Japan's culinary arts — kaiseki multi-course dining, tofu cuisine, matcha sweets, and the vibrant Nishiki Market offer unforgettable flavour experiences.

Best Time to Visit

Spring (March–April) for cherry blossoms, Autumn (November) for fiery maple leaves. Both seasons transform the city into a living painting.

Getting There

15 minutes from Osaka by shinkansen, 2 hours 15 minutes from Tokyo. We arrange all transfers and can include Kyoto in a multi-city itinerary.

Stroll through towering bamboo stalks that filter the sunlight into an ethereal green glow. Best visited early morning for quiet solitude.

A Zen temple covered in gold leaf, reflected perfectly in the mirror-like pond below. Stunning in every season, magical under snow.

Experience the centuries-old art of matcha preparation in an authentic tea house. We arrange private sessions with English or Turkish-speaking hosts.

Kyoto's famous geisha quarter. Walking the lantern-lit streets at twilight, you may encounter a maiko (apprentice geisha) heading to an engagement.

🍴

Nishiki Market

"Kyoto's kitchen" — a 400-year-old food market with over 100 stalls selling fresh seafood, pickles, sweets, and local specialties.
