But Osaka is far more than food. Osaka is also the gateway to Kansai — with Kyoto, Nara, and Kobe all within easy reach, it makes an ideal base for exploring western Japan.
Best Time to Visit
Spring (April) for castle cherry blossoms, Summer for festivals (Tenjin Matsuri is one of Japan's top three), Autumn for mild weather and colourful temples in nearby Minoo.
